6 x 4 shooter coil

Hi all - has anyone tried the 6 x 4 coil on the MXT - I appreciate there wont be a lot of depth but what about recovery speed - I've almost convinced myself that I will have to slow right down so as not too miss anything - the site I'll be on is littered with nails etc - thanks in advance :ukflag:

I have the 5" excelarator coil from Kellyco. Its awesome on small gold and it has amazing depth for a 5" coil.

I have the shooter and it's a great coil when working trashy areas and as for recovery speed I see no diff between it and the stock coil they both are fast on the mxt.
True it don't have the depth of a larger coil but what good is depth if you can't get through all the trash.
If you live or plan on going to a gold producing area I'm told the shooter coil being a DD coil is also good for that as well due to the high mineral grounds.

The shooter is a great coil in heavy trash. The recovery speed if you mean retune is very quick. However, I found I have to swing slower than my usual swing or I end up too far past the target by the time I react which can leave one searching for the signal over again. As to depth, I've found the depth to be good to better than I'd expected from such a small coil, but of course the ground coverage suffers.

Someone advised me to get the smaller one but I ended up with the 6X10.
Is there a recovery lapse on that one as well?

I have and use the 4X6, 5.3, 6X10, 9.5, and the 12" on my MXT and have never experienced what I'd call a "recovery lapse" with any of them.

I will "second" BarberBill's comments. No problems here wth any of my coils on the MXT Pro with recovery speed ? Really love that 4x6 shooter coil in Tot-Lots (for working around the outdoor gym equipment) and it does great for me in "very" trashy areas. I use my 5.3 coil in "trashy" areas. LOL. :pulltab:

Finally, I remember finding a small matchbox car down at 9" in the wet woodchips with the 4x6 shooter. It has suprisingly good depth for a smaller coil.  HH. CCH.

Little late getting in here but in my soils you lose maybe an inch in depth compared to the stock 950 coil. However, by adjusting threshold and gain its almost the same. This coil is a must in trashed out areas.

Well thanks for all the help but it had to go - I found it nowhere near a sensitive as I'd hoped for - I just didn't have the confidence in it which was backed up by a few days testing in the field so to speak.
