6000/Di PRO SL ... good choice?

Hi, new to this forum. Just picked up a 6000/Di PRO SL to add to my stable of detectors. I have heard good things about this model; how does this unit function at the beach? Will wet sand (salt) cause a lot of problems? What settings would work well for tan sand, both wet and dry? I have a Surfmaster for water detecting, but would like to use this for beach hunting when the water's too rough. How would this unit compare in use to my Classic III ? Thanks in advance!

Yes it's an excellent choice. I live right across the street from a black sand, hotrock infested beach and it works pretty good on the beach also make sure you tweak the signal balance per instructions for the best depth and stability. My old Classic III did ok but I think an external GB like with Mr. Bills mods. would make it perform better.
