I prefer it over the HF 6" coil. I loose some target separation but I don't get as many false high tones. If you hunt where there are a lot of rusty bottle caps you might want to try one.

I've enjoyed using it but find that the 6in DD coil is better. The DD separates targets better, and I've personally never been happy with any of the medium frequency coils (had them all). For reasons I can't explain, I seem to run into EMI issues with them and can't trust the TID to be accurate. I don't know why as most other detectors I've owned operate fine around the same frequency with no issue, but both X-Terra's seem to come to grief often enough. I've found the high frequency coils to be great and I'm starting to use the low frequency coil now too. It seems to be good so far.

I have heard it gets great depth for a 6" coil. I am sure all of the soil conditions that affect the other coil choices apply.

I found it to be a great little coil. However, in my opinion, it is a bit too "hot" around the edges for the reasons I like to use small coils.......target separation. Kind of a trade off, I suppose. Better separation with the higher frequency DD compared to better TID with the MF concentric. JMHO HH Randy
