705 and prospecting

I went down to Yreka, on my brother's claim, with the 705, Due to circumstances and rattle snakes, didn't get to do much detecting, ,but just wanted to say , I tried it last year with the XT 70 and the hot rocks drove me nuts, but the 705 really worked great, Didn't get any gold, but didn't have to fight the hot rocks,
 
The 705 handles hot rocks much better than the 70? That is news to me.

Why is that, because of the Off-Set Tracking or some other improvement ?

I guess it was the off set, I was really surprised that it worked. The hot rocks are really bad there.
