705 Pinpoint and AM Probem

Looks like I need to send in the 705, but wanted to check here first to make sure nonone has a suggestion. It works great in the Prospecting and Disc mode, but when I go into PP mode it acts strangely. It's impossible to PP the target (and I am moving the coil well off the target before going into PP mode) - it just doesn't lock on to where the target is. And, even more alarming, if I stay in PP mode and lift the coil in the air it keeps sounding off like a target is under the coil. Another proble that may be related is that when I go into AM mode to ground balance, it continuously cuts in and out with a VDI of 42 as if there is a quarter in the ground every 3 couple inches. I took off the could cover to make sure I didn't have a quarter stuck in it , but all was well under there.

Try a reset. It might straighten it out....but it might not. Worth a try before sending it in.
If you have another coil, it would be worth trying that too.

My brother have the same problem on his Xterra 705. It will be back to for service or replacement.
