705 recovery speed

Very good!
I like the XT 705 on the fields due to the recovery speed.Etrac is much better in trashy sites though.Looking forward to get more info about the new Minelab.

Mike

I have no trouble with recovery speed with the 705 and I hunt some really trashy areas. If I am having trouble with the big coil in trash, I'll just switch to the 6 inch HF DD coil and problem solved. The 6 inch still gives you excellent depth and good separation of targets.

Not trying to hijack this thread but since I am also interested in the 705 and have been wondering about what additional coil would be a best bet for me, would you say
the 6 inch HF DD would be it? :) I'm sure I will be in some trashy areas as well.

Cant help you with the coils. I just got my 705 a few weeks ago. I may get a 6" LF. I read its a good coil for finding silver. Good luck when you get your new 705. Did you try New England Detectors? Andrew may have them. Super guy to deal with.

Depends on the type of hunting you'll be doing, and the sites you'll hunt. Concentrics provide a more accurate TID in moderately mineralized soil. DD coils perform better in mineralized soil. Smaller coils are more sensitive to small targets. Larger coils detect deeper. Lower frequencies are better suited for high conductive targets. Higer frequencies are better suited for low conductive targets. DD coils separate targets more readily. etc. etc. etc. There is quite a few posts regarding coils in the FAQFAQ section toward the top of this forum. I also wrote quite a bit about the coils in my eBook, Understanding your X-TERRA. If you've not taken the time to download a FREE copy from Minelab's website, I'd encourage you to do so. HH Randy
