waiting on my 705 to get here...looking foward to trying it out...and yes after all I have read I want one of the "Digger" coils as well...lol

I think you will reaslly like it. It took me about a month to really like my xterra. Now we are almost like best friends. I will probably always have one.

If you're coming from an older detector, take your time and practice, but don't get frustrated. It took me a while to get comfortable having used my other detector from those other guys for quite a while. Once I reprogrammed my brain, my finds greatly increasd over what I was used to. Looking back now it was easy, but I was so used to certain sound patterns it made it difficult for me for a little while. I also struggled with the pinpoint feature and was convinced that it just didn't work, now I use it all of the time.

And CONGRATULATIONS on your new aquisition!
Looking forward to seeing what you find!

:clapping:Congratulations on your very wise decision.Take your time and really learn what it is telling you in the field and if there is anything to be found where you hunt, the Xterra will find it. I have the X70 and can tell you it is the best MD I have ever used. I have had the BH, Garrett and Teknetics machines and the Xterra beats them hands down. Some critics knock the Xterra's recovery/swing speed but I hunt very meticulously and go a little slower anyway which usually means more good finds, at least in my experience anyway.Good luck and keep us updated.

took some advice and printed off Randy`s book...read it a couple of times and today my 705 arrived...read the instruction manual and now things are starting to come together...now if the snow will leave I`ll be able to try it out...Oh, also have my "digger" coil coming and it should be here around Wed. My 705 has the stock 7.5 khz coil which I think will be fine here in swmo. That snow storm and cold weather couldn`t have come at a worse time for me...lol. Thanks for all the help!
