8" Coil For Quattro

I got the 8" minelab coil for the Quattro today, I couldnt believe the way the dealer shipped it, I also oedered an extra lower rod and believe it or not he cut a hole in the corner of the box and stuck the lower rod in the hole leaving about 8" sticking out of the hole, at first I thought UPS had damaged the box but the box was too small for the rod to fit in. I have never seen anything shipped like this before, im surprised that UPS accepted it. I tested the coil in my test garden and couldnt believe the depth. I could detect and properly ID a silver half dollar at slightly over 10". If it doesnt rain tomorrow I am going to try the 8" coil at a civil war era house that I have been hunting, the yard is quite trashy hopefully the small coil will help with trash seperation. HH

Hello Jerry, it does say much for the dealer who packed your coil like that. I thinnk you'll really like the smaller coil. I use it mostly in trashy ground and it works great for me.

The 8" coil is the one I start searching with. It is great. If I want to cover a large area and time limited then the 10.5" is used. If the area is trashy or the terrain is rocky then I use the 5".

I just got my 8" coil on wendsday...Hoping to get to use it today...I also got the lower shaft and it was packed great...Bought from kellyco tho...Let me know how ya do with yours
