This is not a day that Mom has been looking forward to but we follow the Lord's Word in 1 Cor 7:9.
This will be a tough day for Mom. Her daughter will be moving out and the empty nest syndrome will set in.
I have to laugh, the other day I mentioned that Casey's initials will be C R S which is also used on shirts to say C R S - I Can't Remember Stuff (or a similar disgusting word).
This morning Casey woke up and brought out her marriage license for me to hold on to and said "Pete, will you keep these for me? I know that you will not misplace them." She then added "You know me, later on I will be C R S!"
Her Dad, the sweet guy he is, kicked her out of his place when she told him of her upcoming wedding and he doubled his fists shaking them in her face, threatened the life of her spouse to be and shouted profanities at her. He is a piece of work - devil's work. He damaged their relationship beyond repair at this time. He is good at doing that...burning bridges. Now he has no one...not even a daughter who loves him. (No one else wants him as he beats them up or uses and abuses them). Creating his own hell on earth.
So, guess who has the honors of giving his daughter away? Me. I have probably been more of a Dad to her over the past 8 years than he has. An honor for me.
