90th Silver for year a nice Barber

I wanted to go back to the yard where I was finding pennies at 8 to 9 inches and take my 15" 12" SEF coil to see if anything could be hiding deeper. My first find was a deep Wheat so I was hoping for Barber's here since home built around 1905. Found silver number 88, a 1943 black faced Mercury so was hoping for more. Started finding a lot of deep Wheat and then an Indian came out at about 10", 1880. Discovered 2 more deep Indians and then another Mercury, 1917 in pretty good shape at 8 inches. So was hoping number 90 would be a Barber. I was soaked by this time, record highs here like a lot of places in the Country. But I wanted silver number 90.

I went back over where I searched with the stock 11" coil hoping to find a deep coin. Got a nice signal and was deep, between silver and a Wheat signal. I dug in and at 10 to 11 " I saw the silver disc...YES a Barber Dime; 1916. I was able to locate a 1932 Wheat also, my first!

Called it a day after 3 hours in the heat. Here is the total for the night:
1916 Barber Dime
1917 and 1943 Mercury Dimes
3 Clad Dimes
3 Indian Heads 1880 1890 1906
19 Wheats: 1910 1912 1917 1918(3) 1919 1920 1924 1932 1934 1935 1936 1939 1940 1944 1945 1948 1951

Good stuff !

I need to find a barber, it's been too long .. over a month and a half !:bouncy:

Nice hunt. The heat is nasty here today too and in fact is supposed to have a shot at topping the 100 degree mark. Not looking forward to mowing this afternoon..but might try to squeeze in a hunt later this evening.

Those are great looking dimes! The temp here has been very high , hasnt rain here (Dunkirk,In) for 3 weeks and the ground is almost as hard as a brick.
