92 Quarters this am! :surprised:

I've been gone all week, got home last night late..really jonesing for some dirt time! I went and checked out the beach at dawn to see if those big waves opened up some cuts..nope, just dumped a ton of sand is all. So I swung by this one old high school that has a little totlot to pick up some coffee money, and dang! The gate to the football stadium was wide open! I got in behind the bleachers in the grass between them and the fence, and started hitting Q's...not just a few, dang near every sweep, and stacks of them too. Hit a nice 92 signal, and sure enough, a JFK half, got a Sac dollar coin in the mix. I had to settle myself down and just concentrate on any little high tone pip, dropped sens to 46, -3 thresh, the Q's were so thick I was thinking about that little coil again...how it would really be great in this mess...Q's on top of Q's everywhere! Tight spills, thinking about Capt Phil, and how once you are on the crab, dont leave! My F70 battery readout was on empty, I went to the truck and did a quick swap, went over the whole place 3 or 4 times with different settings, higher sens, etc. Got a 45 wheatie in the mix, and started hitting the dimes and high penny readings once the Q's got thin...the nickles were incedental finds in the stacks of Q's! This is definitely my best Q day ever! Fingers are bleeding from reaming around in the dirt! I shut the gate when I left, but if its not locked tomorrow am, I'll go back and get UNDER the bleachers! 132 coins, 26.61 total

Holly Molly Mud nice mother lode!!! hh rick n mi

Yeah, Rick that sure was a lot of fun! They also stripped the track around the football field of 5" of the top substrate, I think they are fixing to lay down one of those rubberized ones...the aggregate left there is some old foundry waste, noisy, but I did get some coins out of there with the low sens...but it sure was a chattery mess alright! Most all the Q's are the eagle backed variety, 1965 on up...I never even got on the field, or any of the other good spots...it would take a week to do it all, so I was just highgrading...if I'd a known I was that close to a century day of Q's, I'da stayed longer! Maybe I should take a nap and go back?

Holy smoke, that might be a Findmall record quarter day. Never heard of such numbers on a single outing. $26.61 is one h**L of a day in itself. My hats off to old bud. You work those spots and deserve some nice cherry picking. Great day!!!!! HH jim tn

Now thats a great hunt, heavy finds bag loaded with quarters!

Thanks guys..Yeah, I couldn't believe it myself, that finds pouch was getting heavy, I just kept stabbin and grabbin..nothing deeper than 4". I left some deep targets there and sort of marked them with plastic bottle tops so I can find them tomorrow. I had no idea until I got home what I had, but I knew it was gonna be good... I never made it back out this afternoon, I'll get the rest tomorrow. You guys that were there for the glory days when detectors first came out...I was thinking about that too...if these were all silver coins, that must be what Heaven is like!

Mud,
Terrific hunt! That is more than twice the best clad haul I had when I found a wood chipped refreshment stand at a sports field that had apparently not been detected in a long time. Take that afternoon was "only" about $12.
Cheers,

Man thats incredible! $23 buck alone in quarters!
WTG!:clapping:

Yeah boys, it was just one of those spots...the concession area was clean, but near the back of the field behind the bleachers there is a triangle patch of grass where the track teams must sit and chill or something...I went back and popped all the goofy stack signals and coin on edge signals and got ANOTHER 51 Q's outta there in two hours this am! Had to use the Fpoint a lot on account of all the gravel matrix in with the dirt..Never dug a hole, just stabbin clad...70 more coins for 13.92...There WAS 200 coins for over 40 bucks in there! I'm gonna eat some breakfast and go somewhere where maybe I can find some gold! Good Luck and good swinging to you all!

We need to change your name to "Quarterpuppy". That sounds like it was a lot of fun.
