A 1st for me...Lead WW1 soldier-in great shape!

Been hunting a while & have found a lot of old marbles & such. But today I got my 1st lead soldier-of a doughboy. The guy is very well dressed for a soldier-even has a tie on!. I'd say these are a rare find for the Portland Oregon area & definitely made my day-because besides him I got a few deep clad & that's about it...

A good bit of the paint is still there-enough to give me an idea of what it looked like when new. And surely the kid who lost this is in his 90's if he's lucky...

About 7" deep with my AT pro...At my favorite "hunted out" park...

Good find. Do not try to repaint it. It could be worth a little money... KEN

Very nice find. Even the fragile base isn't broken.

I agree with Knarfi, I would take you metal soldier over silver dimes any day. That figurine has a lot of historic value. There are probably a whole lot less of those hanging around than there are solver dimes. I would get it appraised before you try and re-finish it.

Nice going.
