A 2500 question

kickback

New member
Do nickels give a belltone omn the 2500? My 2500 was just delivered an I put it together.Tonight is my last nightshift.I work 6,12 hour nightshifts then have 8 days off.Tomorrow starts days off so I have time to start the learning curve. Thanks Bill

I have found on my older 2500 that they do not make the belltone sound. Also newer pennies do not either. I was wondering if anyone else found this to be true as well.

If anyone has gotten the upgrade chip, did that fix this or is this something I have to deal with?

Thanks

The chip is a mineralization chip for punching through heavy mineralizatrion and has nothing to do with nickels and cents

Thank you all. It's raining here.I won't go out with the new machine until this afternoon.

You should be very pleased with the 2500. It will take practice. When you are somewhat proficient you will find imaging extremely useful and accurate. Gotta get a good pinpoint first and luckily that is a breeze with the 2500. Stay away from the large coil for awhile. I ifnd depth reading to be fairly accurate too as long as your pinpoint is good.

I look forward to hearing about your first hunt.

I took the 2500 to work with me last night.I also took another detector I have.I went out in the lawn at 03:00 and found my first coin with it.I checked the signal I got with my CZ(I just put the 5" coil back on it). Both detectors got the same reading, quarter at 6".I wasn't smart enough to put in a digging tool.I was unable to recover the coin. All I could find to dig with at work was a small plastic spoon or a bandage scissors. Then it started raining.Bill

I rarely get coins that indicate deeper than 5 inches but I think that is my choice of sites. The exception to the rule is a copper cent I found this morning that imaged correctly (size B) and showed depth of 5-6 inches. Actiual depth was over 6.5 inches which is the lenght of the blade on my Lesche. Yes I've worn it down 1/4 inch just digging. Not that it it a poorly constructed tool. I bet I've dug 20,000 targets with it. You need a nice sunny day off!
