A coin found a few months ago here in Germany, I'm snowed in...

Mike, Congatlations on the silver find. I admire your finds. I saw many of your finds on the other forums (Coinist). I have question for you. I am a Dept of the Army civilian and just accepted a job in Wurzburg Germany with the US Army. I was wondering what are the laws and/or restrictions concerning metal detecting in Germany. I lived in Korea for a long time and found many Japanese military relics, old Korean, Japanese, and Chinese coins going as far back as 1000AD. I even found a few 90% silver US coins in Korea. In Korea, I never had any problems with a metal detector but I am not sure of what it is like in Germany. Thank you for your assistance.
Respectfully,
Jeffrey Mitchell
