A couple of goodies I've found that I used a new polish on to take stains out...

This stuff works wonders and will make your finds look like they came out of a jeweler's case. It's called " American Eagle Never Dull" wadding polish.
The items are a medallion from the 1902 camp meeting of the GAR and a Marine commemorative badge from 1917 right in the middle of WWI.

It is a can packed brim full of cotton wadding soaked in a chemical cleaner. You just tear off a piece of the wadding and rub the object to be cleaned then buff lightly with a soft cloth. The stuff works like magic.
