A Couple of Tips For Ground Balancing

RLOH

Well-known member
For all of the Omega users who have read the manual and still have a hard time getting an accurate ground balance, I have a couple of tips. First, when I had problems using the computer assisted method(ground grab),make sure the detector is in all metal when you turn the detector on. This tip was given to me from other forum members and it does seem to work. Second, in some places for whatever reasons, I can't seem to use the ground grab function. When this happens, just adjust the Omega manually. Make sure you are in are in all metal with the sensitivity high enough to get a threshold. Use the up and down buttons to manually get the detector balanced(no change in threshold when coil is pumped up and down slowly). Of course with any of these two methods, make sure the ground you are balancing over is clear of signals. The manual method is my prefered way to balance and the Omega needs a precise ground balance for the top notch performance it is capable of. R.L.
