A few coins found this morning

Got out to a park area that has lots of bottlecaps. I had read on here about a "Stomp" method after locating a iffy or bottlecap target. You stomp on the ground after your first scan and if the target now reads as a coin you dig it up. I stomped on over 30 targets, and not a one changed readings. I dug them all up anyway......and they were indeed..........bottlecaps.

I will try a few more times during the next couple of times I go detecting, just to see if any targets change readings.

Anyway, this morning I took my Whites M6 and Kellyco 4 1/2X7 Excelerator coil out, and did get some keepers, along with the above mentioned bottlecaps.

An unknown date Buffalo nickel, a 1928 SLQ and a beautiful 1961 Washington quarter !!!!

Boy did you give me a mental picture. I like the stomp thing.
People already think we are crazy, now we can have more fun
with them. Glad you can still get out and dig.

Nice hunt - too much winter for me to be able to get out so I'm envious. Haven't heard of the "stomp" method, will try to remember it and give it a go when the snow clears off.

Dang!! I am gonna start jumpin up and down on em for finds like that...lol

HH,

That 61 quarter is still at least AU? (Wish they all came out like that!) Stomp method? (S'posed to change the halo?) Three possibilities...works. Doesn't work. Free trip to a rubber room. I'm gonna try it.

Yes it is supposed to break the "Halo" so the target will read correctly. It doesn't hurt to try it...after all we all want to try new stuff in search of getting those coins in the ground...right???

I am going to try it a few more outings to see if I get any targets to change readings..... Hopefully this method will work...if not, it is fun stomping on a bottlecap target thinking....."Change to a nice coin!!!! CHANGE !!" :bouncy:
