A few SCUBA finds...

Yesterday was my third attempt at metal detecting at depth using SCUBA and my Excalibur 1000. Starting to work the bugs out of the technique and getting a little more comfortable. The dive was a lot of fun as it was but the silver and gold made it even more enjoyable! Can't wait to dive in again!

Can you tell me anything about using the excailbur on land? Trying to decide between this, and a quattro.
Thanks

Sorry, been offline. The Excalibur is great on land. I have no problem with depth. Dug a penny at 18 inches the other day. The only negative is that with the Excalibur, the coil and headphones are hardwired. And to change them would require sending it in to a specialist and additional cost. The headphones are fully waterproof and work well but are really clunky. Obviously the Excalibur also lacks any visual display, only audio. But that's fine. I have the Explorer, which gives you all the audio plus more visual data than some people can handle. The Quattro is an explorer junior and has many of the same features, but I don't know exactly what it has. Both machines have their merits, that's why I haven't sold my explorer yet. I'm giving my Excalibur more land time right now so that I can make the decision as to whether I want to sell the explorer for spare cash or keep it for land. If at all possible I would recommend that you find a dealer with both models and go try them out. Alternatively find a local club where the members may let to experience their machines.
