A forum dedicated to the Scorpion, Awesome!

Hi all, I'm from BC, Canada and have been hunting for treasures with my Scorpion since last summer and have found all sorts of items. I live in Lillooet which was home to many gold rushes in the mid to late 1800's but so far have yet to find a nugget with the detector. Sluicing and panning has given me better results for gold. But, being winter, panning is on hold. So for the past few weeks I've been walking around in the river with the Scorpion looking for gold that has been missed. Neoprene chest waders have been awesome. This detector is awesome at finding targets and discriminating against junk and hot rocks is soo quick and easy. Finding gold is like playing the lottery, you can only win if you buy a ticket and you will only find gold if you look for it.
Happy hunting.

Welcome to the forum!:wave:This is a wonderful community and a great place to share info!:garrett:
You mention wading with the Scorpion. I wade with mine sometimes. What I like to do is place the control box on a floating sifter, in a clear plastic sandwich bag to protect it from splashes. The search coil cord is so long the you can even dive down a little bit/snorkel(sniping for gold).
Feel free to ask for advice at anytime.:biggrin:Check out the other Garrett forums on here.:wiggle:Happy Hunting!:)

I thought about that. The cord is pretty long eh. Someone should sell an aftermarket waterproof box for the Scorpion. Or a stem extension for greater reach in deep water.
