Two buddies and I hit an old inner city park this morning that my Etrac buddy had hit a 54 Franklin half on right at the end of our hunt earlier in the week. 2 of us were swinging F 75 LTD's with the 5" coils and the other buddy was swinging his Etrac. Right off I hit the 49d Rosie and then for a good while all it was was clad, a few wheats and some trash, between us. Working our way out onto the field I got a bouncy high tone hit. Dug down about 4-5," flipped over the cold and determined the target was out of the ground. Found the target with the Pro pin pointer and with a little spit and gentle rub discovered the 1919 Buffalo nickel. Re-scanned the hole and got a screamer hit. Moved about a half inch of dirt around with the pin pointer and saw the edge of a big silver. Called my buddies over and then pulled the 48 Franklin half from the hole. We then had a round of Gator Aid. My Etrac buddy did snag a 39 Washington Quarter and several wheat backs. My sole wheat cent was a 1917. I also got what appears to be a lady bug pendent. I thought it was trash until I cleaned it up some. Anyway, todays hunt was yet another good reminder to always recheck those holes. One of my buddies did, too, and got 2 teens wheat cents. .there sure was a lot of silver dropped in that park, must have been an active place back after the war. Is the lady bug gold? Nice job!
