Six of us went to an old fairgrounds that most of us have never hunted including me. Had to fight frozen ground till about noon. Then most of the place had thawed out.

Shawano was only there about an hour, but he did get a 1935 merc!

Now I did get some stuff too so be sure to see THE REST OF THE STORY below.........

I had worked hard to get through a frozen crust about an inch deep to get my first wheat. a little while later I had a signal that I though was going to be another wheat. When I took the 2nd scoop of dirt out I seen a coin a little bigger than a penny, but I knew it was not a nickel by the tone. Holy smokes there is a big "2" on it! YEEE HAAA!! Been a while since I have dug a 2 cent piece! Here she is right out of the dirt. The one side was pretty clear, but the other side had some hard to get off dirt, so I couldn't make out the last number till I cleaned it at home.

A little while later I got another wheat then I got this sweet tone about 6" next to a trash target. A little digging revealed a silver dime!

Oh boy! a 1911 Barber dime! two in two days!

I dug two more wheats and a big brass finial.
