I hadda go across the county to do a little business today and, of course, a detector accompanied me. As always.
This time it was my mean, green, GTP 1350.
The weather wasn't cooperating, though, at least not initially. It has been pouring for the last day and a half and I mean gully washing! Creeks are rivers and ponds are overflowing their banks.
But I remain undeterred, as usual. you never know when a break in the storm will come, so you must be ever ready. I only think of those who brave the cold and damp in our northern climes without complaint - and I stop whining and get to it.
So, John and Les... this hunt was for you.
Didnt find much, just the usual suspects. I did luck up on a nice eatery in the little town I spent the morning in - a steak sandwich with peppers, onions and cheese, with a side of fried okra for $4.50!
Best thing about today is I forgot how much I enjoy being out in the rain. Its quiet and there are fewer people around, wondering what you're up to. I was approached by a city worker, but he was more interested in what I was looking for than anything else. When he learned I was merely "out and about," he got bored fast and moseyed on his way with a wave.
Here are the meager gleanings. No nickles.
