I lost my Dad Thanksgiving Day so I can understand relating a holiday that is supposed to be good day.

Here is my take. I cannot change the past Steve. I hope my Dad is with the Lord. What I concentrate on for this day is not us as human beings wishing each other a happy day. I concentrate on trying to make this a happy day for our Father God...the Father of us all, great and small.

He IS the Father of us all and so I wonder why the world forgets God the Father and we think more of ourselves. Though everyday I should strive to please God the Father (and the Lord Jesus and not grieve the Holy Spirit as well), I do get hung up on "me", "I" and as a family "we"...but today is not MY day but HIS.

Satan would love for us to forget God and center things on our selves, our loses, our grief, our resentments but for that reason along I feel even more convinced this is God's day and our Father deserves our love and our attention more and more. So I thumb my nose to Satan and say "Happy Fater's Day to you, Father God" and may His will be done in the earth as it is in Heaven.

We all suffer lose and I don't to minimize anyone's loss but I want to MAXIMIZE our gain through Jesus, as we are called Sons of God.

Hoping this helps to make this day a little more bearable for you and others Steve.
