A historical ring find this past summer

I thought some members might be interested in viewing this WW1 35th Machine Gun Battalion/12th Division ( Plymouth Division) 10K gold ring that I recovered in the water about 3 ft. deep at a Ct. beach this summmer

This Battalion was stationed at Ft. Devans , Massachusetts from August ,1918 to January, 1919.
They were due to be deployed to France, but the Influenza outbreak occurred , resulting in the cancellation of deployment.

The Commanding Officer of this Battalion was the great -great uncle of Senator John McCain.

I have the original roster book of this Battalion in my possession with the names of the soldiers listed, but the ring has no visible initials .

This is my most precious find in my 4 yrs. of detecting.

thank you....I'd say that this ring is a "once in a life time " find

I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time...under a pier... same area where I had hunted soooooooo many times prior to finding this ring.
One never knows........
