That's why I use alkalines and have a second pack in my carry bag. I know if I use rechargables I would always forget to charge them.
 
Hate that. I use rechargeables in the detector and keep a back up of alkalines in the car. IF I am going to be a long ways from the car, I keep the back up pack with me.
