I have been trying like mad to get my tumbling caught up. I now have a semi functioning tumbler constructed from the parts of three broken tumblers. It's getting to be a serious pain in the neck fixing the thing every 2 or 3 hours. I have about 5 pounds worth that I'd like to get done before Tuesday. Went to the bank this morning with just over a hundred bucks worth of clad and got very lucky in spotting a 1964 Kennedy Half in my teller friends tray.

Yesterday I went out for 3 hours and quit at dusk. The loot was a little better than the night before which was a monster clad hunt. I didn't take a photo but it was a ton of clad and almost nothing else. Last night I got one more wheat, 1920, a silver dime, 1964D, a real nifty silver ring, and a way cool gold filled National Honor Society pin. I was sure it was gold until I rinsed it off. Dang it! I also scratched the silver dime which is probably the only coin I gouged all day. Figures. Loads more clad including clad dime number 1,000 for the year! You probably are asking, "Where are the nickels?" They are in tumbler. I put them in before I snapped the photo.

I don't much fancy a hunt right now. It is hot and muggy and I'm pretty sore anyway. Normal July 4th parties, parades, and picnics will probably keep me sidelined until next week-end.

Looks like you are doing well with all the clad. I have around $48.00 so far since April. It has been hot and muggy the last few days here in Iowa also. I'm planning on going out Sunday morning at our sports complex. It has 3 ball fields and a play ground on it so going to check them out some more. I done around one of the ball fields last week. The park isn't old enough to have any silver but does see a lot of people. Then I might hit that same park that I found the silver dime in yesterday, There are a couple spots left that I haven't hit yet on that park. Now that I hit silver there I definitely want to hit them now.

Ive recently learned the concept of a National Honors Society in education started with Napoleon... in fact our structure for state-run education came from him.
Looks like you had a nice run. How far did you travel this time?

58.4 miles. That includes side trip to Walmart.

Chris

Sidetrip to walmart =Batteries LOL. Nice little nifty ring , Looks a little nifty bent in the picture, but maybe thats its shape. Thats very impressive on the dime count. Thanks for the pics, I love a dirty pile of clad and some other goodies..C YA next weekend Chris:thumbup:
