A little gold info ID

New member
Just a little info, I eye-balled found a 14K St. Christophers medallion (dime size), 2.5 grams, tested it with My Safari and got a solid 10 id, Just a little info I wanted to pass along to fellow Safari users. sorry no pics.

Thanks for the info. I always write down the TID readings of various kinds of gold, it gives me more incentive to dig those lower readings. It is a shame gold has to cover such a wide TID range ( 6 to a high as 38 ) on the Safari. With as much junk as there is in the ground, being a coin shooter I just don't have time to dig over about 5% of my targets hitting between 6 and 36 other than 100% of those in the nickel range. Though you would think after digging over 135 nickels in the past 3 yrs. and probably a like amount of pulltabs reading in that range, that just one would have turned out to be a gold ring, but notta...

I always read that the small gold id's at 6 and up, most time you dig those signals its foil or junk. It makes you wanna think if it's worth digging. I only dug 1 gold piece last year, on a beach, rang up a 14, just like rings I did tests with. 'Gotta start digging 10 id's and up....
