Me and the 250 visited one of my favorite parks this evening and at first wasn't doing to hot, then I wandered over to a big tree on the other side of the park and started finding coins under the tree. So I mentally gridded it off and hunted under the tree and out to a diameter of about 40 feet and found all these coins in that area.

I wanted to hunt longer but it was after 6 PM and Momma hadn't been fed yet so I had to hustle home and fix her some supper. I'll give it another shot tomorrow. Hope I didn't get it all this time. :)

If you're getting out for almost 3 hours, you must be feeling a lot better. I am a fan of all the loot a nice shade tree has to offer but I am not a fan of dealing with the roots. There is a good passage in "Successful Coin Hunting" about trees that I just reviewed before I read your post. Jinx, buy me a Coke.

Lots of quarters. Good hunt.

That's a great haul Bill. Looks like you found money tree.

Very nice hunt quarter master.

I have good luck under and around old trees. One time at a local school/park I found over seven bucks under one tree.

Few years back ( with the 2500 ) I found three Barber coins in one hole under a tree root. Had to dig down then sideways and down again but I got the puppies.

Great job, I hope you find more next time.
