Took the morning off from hunting and got caught up on some Jim and honey do tasks. Finished up early afternoon and wiped the cob webs off the Omega and with it and the 10" DD coil headed out to an old high school that on occasion still gives up a goodie. Today was one of those occasions. From 6" popped a 43 Mercury dime in decent shape. I don't dig a lot of zinc readings, but one that I dug had a little different bong kind of tone to it and it turned out to be a gold filled junker ring. Near the end of my hunt I ran into a penny spill and quickly snagged 31 of them before I said "enough" for this day. There are still more there, maybe the other 19 of a roll. The nickel is so worn and thin I have no idea what it is? Also got a 2009d "formative years" copper and satin finish penny. I haven't seen many of those, although a ton was minted that one year. Everyone have a safe and great 4th. HH jim tn
