I had a few goals in mind for today and hit them all. It took me 5 hours at 2 new sites. I am loving these new sites! I have a years worth of hunts lined up.
For Oakman. Here is the clad less 50 pennies that I mistakenly put in my tumbler before photographing. Take note of my cruddy nickel count at the first site, Oakman. I dug a lot of pop tops too. Sometimes it just happens that way. Note the nickel total on the bottom set of coins. Much better and a bit above average for me. Finished the day with 194 coins/14 nickels. Also the rest of my junk.

For John in West Va my favorite old coin hunter this 1943 merc from site 1. No wheats or injuns, though. Still no war nickels either.

For Uncle Willy this Sac dollar from site 2. Note the date and mint mark. 2000D! I fondly remember your discussions with our friend.

For Ian who has moved on to that other forum, I hope you're still looking in Ian, a UK one Pound coin with Scottish thistle. I hope it is anyway. From site 1 and a long way from home and man did it hit hard! Never mind it's a Welsh leek.

For everybody else some silver and maybe gold jewelry. The bird pin and large earring or pendant are silver. The tiny pair of earrings might be gold but I doubt it now. I'll test them sometime later tonight and figure it out for certain. The post earrings did not register. I found one near a dime. I looked and looked for the other and when I moved on I found the second one about 2 feet away amongst 5 dimes! The nearby dimes were toned really funny. I can't see any marks but my eyes are getting pretty bad. That bird pin is cool, no?

For John in Edmonton the results of my penny metamorphosis. $1.60 face in 1961 silver coins. I trade my pennies in and buy silver when I get 1500 of them. Makes me dig more pennies and converts cruddy old coins into precious ones. Smaller scale than John but something to look forward to and it adds up! I needed 50 coins when I left the house this morning. I bought the coins yesterday. Shhhhhhh!

I sort of made my 1000 coins in 7 days goal. Last 7 hunts I found 1028 coins. Not seven days in a row, though. My fingers are burning but my back is fine. At any rate, I am thinking about taking tomorrow off. Roughly 90 coins from 2500 in 2009.
