the first of the year,my co. I work for acquired new owners...I heard yesterday they are VERY ANTI-TOBACCO!!!,and as such;there is word they are going to enforce a NO TOBACCO OF ANY KIND POLICY:thumbup: on co.Grounds-Even outside!!:thumbup:Now;to those that dont know me,I am VERY ANTI-TOBACCO-Ive seen TOO MANY people die-in and out of my family-from that hideous addiction to convince me its:thumbdown::puke:-ANYWAY:all these guys were sittin around at shift change-ALL PUFFING-and one of 'em was barkin about the changes coming.Being the nice guy I am,I said'HAH!!!Now THAT breaks my heart"!!I dont know WHY they all glared at me:shrug:-They have banned it time after time there, but always goes back to the same thing-Trouble is;one of the FOREMEN smokes right on the job;and they know the rules better than anybody.I was talking to another co-worker whom is as anti-smoking as I am(He said the same thing as I did-:clapping::crazy:)!!!AND he told me Its serious this time-they WILL enforce it-NO MATTER WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES WILL TO BE TO THOSE WHOM BREAK THE RULES....We shall see-Someone there will be testing the waters, maybe they will make examples of them......

for everyone. Then heard that some public law is going into affect that says something to the effect that ANY public place will be non-smoking. Heard the hotel is also going to ban smoking but can't see that happening. Maybe in a public room such as the bar or dining area or a meeting room but in private rooms such as individual motel/hotel rooms I can't see how they can enforce that. Besides that would keep some people from using such an establishment if they can't smoke and lose customers/income and at this point in our economy up here its hard enough to survive in these businesses.

I like the no smoking idea as it keeps people from second hand smoke and in the long run if people give up smoking it will be better for them. Oh well. Not my battle but will pray for the businesses and the smokers that God will help them both.

I, for one, am glad there are laws against smoking in public places, as I cannot breathe when around a smoker! Makes me cough a lot also! I know smokers want to smoke where they please, but if they would quit permanently they would look and feel much better! Very unhealthy for those who smoke....even just a few cigs a day! God Bless!

I'm with you Ma Betty ------- very unhealthy !! Jesus took the passion for smoking right out of my life some 15 years ago and I could never thank Him enough. I wanted badly to quit and had tried many times like so many others have --- eventually I prayed that He would show me when it was time to quit --- He did !! It took me turning it over to Him and trusting that He would make it happen .... I had not done it that way before. I was always relying on me. I have never missed it since --- no regrets --- and no intention of ever going back ! Thank you Jesus !! Praise You !!

Hi KC! Cliff, my brother, quit cold turkey many years ago and it was easy for him but don't know if he relied on God or not...but he threw his cigs away and never took them up again! His lungs are bad due to COPD, which runs in our dad's side of the family, as our Uncle had it and I also do too, and smoking since a teenager sure didn't help his lungs any! I've never smoked and sure glad I never started such an expensive and nasty habit! Glad you did quit! Jesus loves us and answers our prayers and meets our desires! :) God Bless! Betty

Hi, over here in the UK we have banned smoking in all public buildings, great news i hear you say, yes but getting into these buildings you could get cancer from all the people standing outside smoking, even hospitals there are people with cannula's in connected to drips standing outside smoking its a joke, if they are ill in hospital that's where they should stay, then you have the mess on the floor, even though ash bins have been provided, i was a smoker until the doctor told me to pack in, but i was a considerate smoker (if there is such a thing) i would smoke in public places even in pubs etc, at home i only smoked in the garden, back them i didn't MD, but went fishing a lot, i smoked then but only when i was away from other people, i know its a filthy habit but that is the main word HABIT, for some people it is so hard to pack in, i know a few people who have problems with there circulation and have had all sorts of operations etc ,and one has had numerous heart attacks, but still insist on smoking even though the doctors have told them to stop, fools unto them selves.

Any way just had to get that of my chest.
Sorry one more thing people who smoke in cars with there windows wound up and children sitting in there with them :ranting:

thanks again for letting me vent my anger..

Hi Bernie,

I am so glad you could quit smoking and spare your health in suffering from the cigs harmfulness! I breathed my ex's cigarette smoke and then my kids, but the oldest ones didn't smoke while at home, while my ex and youngest daughter did, when a foolish teenager, but after we moved into our newer home in 1974, I just couldn't take the second hand smoke and both either smoked outside or in the basement, which made it better for me! All that second hand smoke from my dad, while still at home, and from my ex have made my lungs worse too, as the dr. kept asking me when I stopped smoking! I hit him in his arm lightly and said, I told you that I never have smoked, and he said, I know but your lungs act like you have smoked..........But I never did! Workers used to smoke at their desks when I worked in the office of a factory when I first came to St. Louis and that didn't help either! Then they smoked outside the door at the hospital where I worked later, which didn't help when I went in and out! Now, I suffer from emphysema and bronchitis Chronic Pulmanary Lung Dysfunction (COPD) through no fault of my own!

Cliff wouldn't have come up here to live in my home had he still been smoking.....just don't like the smell, burn holes and stains, as well as not being able to breathe! And as I said if anyone smokes....PLEASE QUIT AND SAVE YOUR LUNGS AND SOMEONE ELSES!!!

God Bless! Dr. Ma Betty!
