A matter of economics:thumbup:

Went back down to that other town....found a middle school and commenced to swing. Best results were at the entrance where the busses drop off the kids...Really got into the Q's later in the morning...all over the place in what were the snowpiles and on both sides of the entrance. Hit the soccerfields, sniped a few stragglers on the sidelines, found what appeared to be a Tootsie roll, ate it and kept sweeping, found a half eaten cheeseburger, left it there and kept sweeping. Covered a lot of ground, but I was not leaving until I found enough to pay for the trip. Two round trips there, yesterday and today cost me 21.50 in gas, 5.6 gal. Got 107 coins this am for 15.17...another dollar coin in the mix.....was passing on the D signals after a while..need that little 5"dd to work those entrances proper, though the 11"dd did OK as usual even high flying it over the thick wet grass. It bangs on high tones monstrous in DP tone mode even in the trash.. If it weren't for beer, cigarettes and coffee, I'd be up 10 bucks or so...big soccer tournament still going on at the primary park...I bet I get 20 bucks out of there tomorrow...never seen so many minivans in one place in my life...gotta be 1000 people. The little '97 Subaru I got this Winter seems a quite capable, invisible, and fuel efficient rig for this sport. I'm sure I missed gold, but wasn't feeling like going after those tones today...Economically speaking, if a guy can sort of pay for the gas, and every once in a while find some big dollar item, its better than golf or fishing!

Wow! Did you have to drag your coin pouch or could you still carry it. Nice haul!

Holy smokers, another big pile. You are like a vacuum. Forget the 5" coil, go get a 50 incher. You would be the first detectorist to have a 500 coin day. Good job once again. HH jim tn

Mud you're a digging machine. One good gold ring can buy a lot of gas.

I think most clad hunters do better than silver hunters do dollar wise, but there's just something about popping a silver coin that makes my day.

It was hot today. I was thinking how nice it would be to have a snow pile to detect in. :)

Mud,as always, I'm impressed!!! Is that the combination plate off the front of the safe that broke in to?

I can say one thing for sure, and that is I'm SO GLAD that you don't live anywhere near the area that I live, I would have to sell my machine! LOL

You da man!

Thanks friends..Yeah, KnarFj, you all know when you are "in the zone" just mentally relaxed and wrapped up in the beeps?...when the coin pouch starts to get heavy, you know it was a good clad day. Jim, 500 coins in a day? now theres a goal! Especially if they were all Q's! I nearly got that at the PennyPit last November...it was over 300 I think..'cept they were mainly pennys.:veryangry:.Tab, I hear you there on the gold and silver:thumbup:...it is now just starting to get warm during the middle of the day up here..it was a long winter, and we lost precious hunting time until May. EZ, Stilpony...I'm just practicing up for my retirement funding.:buds:.and I really do hit a new location as serious as possible to find the drop zones, once found, in short bursts of effort, I stab as much of it up as fast as I can..well, time to go hit that soccerfield where the tournaments were...its a very big place, but I'll sweep it clean. Be back later.
