I wanted to share this with the members of this forum. I was doing some yard work today, raking and picking up sticks that had blown out of the soft maple trees in my yard. It was warm, almost 78 degrees today, but windy and I was getting hot,so I grabbed a glass of tea and sat down to cool off a bit in front of the garage. While setting there playing with the dog I noticed a group of ballons drift across the road and settle down in a small tree just across the road. The dog and I walked over to the balloons and I could see there was a note or something tied to the string on the ballons. There was several small cards with scriptures on them from Trinity Baptist Church in Vassar, Kansas tied to the balloons. The cards had Pastor Niles Lloyds name on them with a phone number, so I called him to let him know I found the balloons. Pastor Lloyd told me the balloons were released by the children of the church today
(sunday) around 12:30 pm. I live about 8 miles west of Jacksonvillle, Illinois, so the balloons traveled approximately 350 miles in about 6 hours ( saw them land at 6:30 pm) so they were traveling a little over 58 miles per hour according to my math. Three of the six balloons in the group had deflated or I'm sure they would still be going strong. I also had a very nice chat with Pastor Lloyd by the way. Thought maybe the forum members would like to hear the story. The odd part of the story is that my uncle passed away last night around midnight, and then these balloons practically drop at my feet today and it
gave me a feeling that everything was going to be ok.
