I got permission to search the school grounds of a school that is long gone. All private land now. First coin out is a 1944 D/S . I am not sure if its version one or two. The S is bigger than the D but is hard to see in the pic. Second coin out was a 43 merc. I knicked that with the tool. And the 1910 wheat I hit with the tool also. I quit do to low light after that. After talking to my mother I had found out my god father/uncle who is deceased went to school there. Who knows, he may have dropped it. Or might be his pocket knife I found also. The sac dollar is from the local park here in town. It will get me a coffee.

Good to see that you found a Merc. Silver is a fun thing to find. You may want to send the 1944 D over S in to have graded and then it will also be certified and then you will know exactly the grade of the coin and it's value. Great find with that Wheat Penny. Those are a tough one to find. Hope there is plenty more where all that came from waiting for your return. Good Luck and HH.

Nice find on the 1944 D/S. I stopped by Burlington Historical Society on Sunday and talked old parks & long gone country schools. Very nice Lincoln campaign button you donated.
HH this year.

I might have jumped the gun on the DS. I used two different magnifiers and it sure as heck looked like and s under the black crud. I pulled out the monical and took a closer look and I think I am wrong on it. Is the S punched into the coin or is it raised like the D?
Thanks for the compliment on the Lincoln coin. I debated about ebay with it but chose that route hoping it would drum up business. Hwy 11 is being ripped up east of town. It has been shut down as of today. Might be a spot to go once the black top and gravel is off?

Sometimes they don't give you too much time to make finds.

FYI, I Minelabbed a few parks in your area with a buddy about 5 years ago, but with my time constraints and with gas prices what they are, I can't really justify going that far now (about 20 miles). You're safe now, enjoy your Minelabbing .
