I hope it's the upgrade to the AT PRO that solves the headphone problem and all other bugs worked out.

Each one comes with its own unique RMA number stamped on the side. Just collapse the shaft and drop into any mailbox.

In seriousness, I'm guessing it has to be a prospecting machine. If you look at Garrett's current prospecting box, it's the same look, feel and control housing that was in the Coin Commander made in the 1980s with no graphical interface. And if you look at the terrain in the teaser video, it's all the kinds of places you'd look for ore, not coinage or relics.

Since the AT Pro is kind of like a cross-over between a land machine and a water machine, I'm guessing this to be a crossover between a land machine and a prospecting machine to make it more versatile and marketable.

Please send my "You're-a-Winner" prize directly to me for guessing this correctly :)

The AT PRO takes itr name from and old lind of Garrett machines. I hope the Master Hunter returns.

From what I've heard, they've been completely redoing their imaging technology and adapting it to the AT Pro platform. Essentially, if the rumor mill is correct, they're going to have an improved AT Pro with imaging and a few other "Garrett exclusive" goodies added to it.

Just saw this on the "friendly metal detecting forums" site. Also, there's a scene with 2 metal detectors leaning against the truck. Some have blown up a pic of it and posted it on the same thread. It kinda looks like a cross between an AT Pro, and an E-Trac or F-75/T2.

Got Drunk with a Technician from Texas....!!

It's VERY similar to the AT PRO but with Multi-Frequency VLF, Ruggedized (Rubber and High-Shock Housing), it's Black and has a LARGE readout with Anti-Glare finish. A great Coin an Relic finder, but WILL pick up GOLD Nuggets the size of a Grain of Rice with no problem and the unit is completely Water-Proof with REMOVABLE control Box (keep reading, you'll see why). Also has the Cam-Lock system, properly fit Cuff and Arm extension and best of all a Back-light and SDCARD slot!
Yes!, it will will have a 3D option as well!! Price TAG is $1250.00 (an incredible price) and the 3D control Box option is still being priced out (Probably another $1000.00 or more). 4 different Coils will be available immediately, with a 14" DD and 22" Light-weight Open unit in the works for Meteorite Hunters!
Hot Dog Rotisserie sold separately!

Sounds all cool, but doesn't really explain the hype of the teaser trailer which seems geared more toward a detector you would use in remote locations. I could see it as a box for meteorite hunters, although I don't know why anyone would hunt meteorites, but then again I'm not into rocks.

The SD slot makes a lot of sense as they could sell "presets" which would be suitable for particular regions and soil conditions. Beach hunters might use different settings than gold hunters and relic hunters. Also, presets for international folks who have different sizes of coinage. This would mean they wouldn't need "Euro" versions of their detectors, just a different SD card for the region you lived and hunted in and the conditions under which you hunt. One detector plus numerous "preset" SD cards to accommodate all kinds of users.

Multi-frequency is only a matter of time for Garrett and the AT Pro definitely needs a larger display and back light. Not sure what the 3D imaging does. Guess I could Google but I'm lazy.

A hot dog rotisserie would be a cool option, but lately with the heat, you only need to strap the hot dog to the outside of the shaft and it will cook while you hunt.

Yeah, It's supposed to be able to be an all purpose, all terrain detector. I don't know for certain. If what this guy says is true, it could blow away the competition.

I think that detector, the Imaging thing, is not ready yet. It does not fit with the teaser video either.

n/t

I figured the 3d imaging would be like the Eagle Eye 2 box for the GTI 2500 and the basic imaging would be 2d like the GTI series has. I don't know.

it wont have wireless headphones thats for sure so its passe .
however tesoro could be falling farther behind ....in the technology race for supremacy of the tektors :detecting:

Wireless headphones are available if you don't mind paying for the extras. Radio Shack at least used to have a Bluetooth wireless setup. Don't know how well it worked. One would think there'd be a huge market for wireless headphone adapters for metal detectors.

True. Theirs look like they're from the 80's. Got a good warranty though...
