A Newbie Coil Question for my Explorer II

I have a Explorer II,,,and want to get a deep seeking coil,,,,I plan on going to the beach ,,i don't want to break the bank per se,,but what is a good deep seeker for those deep targets,,,where is the best place to get them ...I thank you for the help,,,HH,,Tim:confused:

Hi Tim,
I would suggest the WOT from Coiltech. It will give you an inch or two over the stock coil. Order the Swingy Thing too. You should be able to get coins at around a foot with the standard coil (depending on ground conditions). Now, the signals will be very weak at that depth and may jump around. Hey, you are hunting the beach - dig it all if it is not too trashy. The stock coil will go surprisingly deep if you pay attention to the small weak signals. Try digging any little peep.

Try running your gain setting all the way up if it is pretty clean ground. This will make the tiny weak signals sound like they are on top of the ground (of course you will not be able to hear a difference between deep and shallow).

Have fun and HH - BF

Hello Jim, I to would say 15" wot coil, go to the Metal Detecting Equipment Classified Forum, and post WTB and see if you can pick up one there, I have had good luck always there, plus always good people to deal with.
