Today, Luke and I first drove to our club meeting. We weren't a big bunch for the first meeting of the coming cold season. It's okay, the call was a bit at the last minute. Here we are... on the terrace... Okay, I might have tempered with that picture, just to warm up the atmosphere a little :)

As usual, there were a few prizes to be won... Luc grabbed that nice Book on British pound coins catalog...

After the breakefast / meeting, Luke and I drove away and decided to head for the biggest beach in town. Was wonderring how many swimmers there were there this week. Not a lot I presume... they might have slipped on the ice crust at the shore line :)

We hunted for a couple of hours under the bright sun ( see ! I didn't lyed on the title!). Only draw back was the minus 10 degrees and the strong winds...

I only managed a few coins and was lucky to grab that nice silver chain :

Was that our last hunt ? we'll see !

Very nice hunt.

Nice silver!

The gear kind of reminds me of about 30 years ago when I rode my motorcycles year round. My hair was much longer than now and I would have icicles on the hair that hung out the back side of the helmet. Snow and ice slowed things down just a little. It was a little tough getting enough traction in snow to pull a wheelie, but it could be done. Only by the grace of God did I come through those years alive and in one piece.

Talk about die hards... you guys are making me feel like a wimp. I've been whining about it being 14 degrees F in the deer woods this year and you guys are out there covered with ice.

Hey Martin Can you tell me what bag is the one the Luke has on his belt ?? and can you add a photo ??
Thanks
Hunter

It's home made. I have a similar one. You need a plastic neck cut from a peanut butter jar for example and the you tie a mesh bag around it. I think Luke baught that bag in a dive shop and he used a pipe joint instead of a jar neck. I wasn't wearing mine because it has worked very hard this year and it need a little repair. This device is very usefull to put finds in without having to open the poutch all the time. I usually put the coins and silver in and the junk in the other poutch. The gold and the chains goes into a zipper pocket in my kellyco bag.
Sorry i dont have a picture on hand, will try to relocate it soon
