A week or so ago I posted a picture of what I thought was an Indian Head I found with the Vaquero. It was under "Cowboy ropes 'em in. "
The coin had been punched or used as a washer. Its been bugging me because something didn't look right. Went in and took a long look tonight with pictures next to the coin. It turns out to be an 1858 flying eagle. Didn't see it before, but I sure can now. Going to get some mineral oil and see if I can get a little detail out of it.
I know some of you live in areas that these are common, but not where I live. I'm stoked!! Lousy shape and all!

Awesome to hear Bill...I really need to get out! But we just got hit by winter storm Ukko

Bill thats cool

Congratulations on your find! A picture would be nice.:)

Hey Tab, I did post one on Cowboy ropes em in. Not a good pic for sure. If I can get some detail after soaking I'll post again.
I just got excited, all these years, its my first.
Thanks.
