A Pi machine for land use...

Mr Bill, can you recommend any Pulse Induction detectors that are specifically designed for land use, ie, nugget hunting in dry desert areas? It seems that pi would excell for this as the ferrous trash out there is minimal and the added depth of the pi system would be the bonus.

Goldscan unit by Eric Foster
Minelab SD2200.
A PI detector designed for the beach may have problems in the gold berring fields with the type of iron mineralization there.
Mr. Bill

Thanks Mr.Bill, I'll keep my eyes open for a "Goldscan" machine. Maybe, I can find a used one someday. I think that PI is really perfect for gold prospecting, I just don't want one of those aussie machines...they are heavy, consumptive on batteries and expensive. Maybe Mr. Foster will design/build a machine to compete with that sd2200, then I'll buy it at once!!!

Eric,
I am glad to see that you will be in the future working on a nugget detector with ground balance. Please consider putting a ground tracking circuit to. While the Aquastar is for sure the most sensitive underwater PI unit at 10 microseconds delay for small gold items. I believe if the next generation underwater PI unit had ground balance with a ground tracking circuit. That we could operate at 8 microseconds delay while in the ocean water. I may be wrong but it would be fun to see if this idea will work.

Great Eric that is what I am waiting for the tracking and GB will be a big plus, also it should be rainproof there are a lot of cold slippery streams I cross and and have gotten a unit or two wet. Thanx Geo

There you have it Mr. Foster, and to include perhaps, interchangable circut cards? I can't wait for this machine!!!
