A question on T2 and F75

robert roy

New member
Seems to me I had read somewhere that the Older T2's needed to get updated software, is that correct?
I also read that the F75 IS the T2 only much better. Can ANYONE end the controversy?

Regards
Robert Roy

never used the f-75 suppose to be more sensitive than the t2, the t-2 is hot, i think many people are missing out on a excellent machine, f-75 stole allot of the t-2 thunder, being a more common name brand, I really enjoy my t-2

i like the t-2 but i have tried it in almost every place that i did good with the sovereign and have yet to come up with anything the sovereign missed. i it being lighter but i keep thinking that i not getting the depth that i did with thesovereign. thanks.

Hi Robert,

That is true on the older first batch T-2's using the first released software, An upgrade was later available. It was an added feature for those who coin shoot allowing the T-2 to avoid most bottle caps, Over all a good feature to have but not used for most types of detecting.

I have owned both the T-2 and F-75, For California both fare about the same on sensitivity and stability. Performance is about equal for our soil only the F-75 will retain it's last settings and has a back light, No need to go through the minor monitions of setting up the detector. For most users that stayed with the T-2 have no problem readjusting the T-2 after turning it on, Very simple to setup.

I sold my F-75 keeping the T-2, Could have went either way as I enjoyed both and didn't favor one over the other.

Let me add on more about the F-75, It does an have an extra sensitivity mode but for California soil that mode would not be as effective as it would be back east. Our soil does not allow some detectors to get maximum use on sensitivity, Yes one could use the extra sensitivity mode effectively but not to it's full potential and that would be limited to a few areas.
