A Sunday Hunt in the Country

A Post on another Forum, prompted a friend and I to take a trip out to the Country to find some Silver. The erea has a LOT of potential. The first schools we came to IWe started hunting. I dug a nickel, when John came up to me and says "We gotta go...". I says "What do ya mean?" He told me there was a sign on the School saying No Metal Detectors or R/C Aircraft allowed on school district property. This is the first place I have ever hunted that specifically prohibbited detecting. We went to another school football field, where we ran into a local hunter. We talked for quite a while and found out we had been following each others adventures on different forums. Also found out he used to work with my Father at Syracuse University. Had some very interesting conversation for about an hour. We then headed off for something to eat and drink, then hit another school...I think our new friend who hunts with a V3 cleaned up here...lol..As all we found was clad, a few wheats, and John found a 1971 dollar. I finished the day with $2.14 3 wheats, an interesting rock w/ gold colored flecks (non-metalic), a .32 cal starter pistol blank, an old nail, a cool matchbox truck, and assorted other odds and ends...Enjoyed the day immensly...

HH,

Nice story GGG . . sounds like a great day. Was the "No Detecting" sign bolted on or just screwed ? THAT is a bad sign. . .

Cannot recall now...think it was screwed or they used cement of some kind...
Yeah I figure someone left open holes or poorly patched holes and the mower ripped up the plugs...The R/C Aircraft probably got out of control and hit a window or a car on the road or a person...
Remember folks...Even in the remotest of places, EVERYTHING you do, reflects on the hobby as a whole, and effects ALL of us...

HH,
