A survey on Tones selections

Hey folks, I've been experimenting with different numbers of tones on my F70. Generally I've been using 4H for most of my hunting. But I'd like to know what tones everyone else is using. So what Tones setting do you F5/70/75 swingers use "most" of the time?

Thanks

I use 3H, unless it's iron laden, then I use one with a 6 disc. setting for better unmasking.

keep on diggin'

because I do a lot of turf hunting and I like how Delta Pitch allows me to differentiate the sweeter sound of silver from ordinary clad coins. It's hard to describe, but a clad quarter sounds more like a mechanical "ding-dong" doorbell sound, while a SILVER quarter sounds more like birdsong. Less machine-like. It took a lot of hours in the field to get my ear tuned to that degree though. Good luck out there. - Jim

I use 3h a lot and on real old sites 4h. On iron ladden sties after I've gone over a stretch with 3h, I will rehunt the stretch in tone 1. HH jim tn

Parks schools 4H dics 6 relic hunting mono tone disc 1-6

2F(f75) low for iron, high for take a another look

It doesn't seem like any one setting has the majority. I think I'll experiment some with mono and 2 tones and see what happens.

I have an F5 and I hunt with 2 tones or I go to all metal. The single tone in all metal is smooth and it will tell you alot plus the depth on the F5 is increased significantly over disc.

Take care

Mono for relic hunting and 4 tone and a dics of 0 for coins that turns the F75 into a more powerful CZ3
