A Sweet Surprise Today

My second SLQ ever!!!!! :super:

I was debating where I should detect this evening, and not coming up with any good ideas I decided to head out to one of my old spots where I've managed a merc and a few wheaties in the past. When I got there I was going over the same holes I'd dug before with not much to show for it except a clad quarter. I decided to move about 50 yards away where I had never really gone over with my detector. When I got over there I began to notice that old, tinted glass--you know, the kind that says a VERY old house was once here. After about 15 minutes I got a nice signal, and thinking it was another clad quarter I dug a six inch hole. When the dirt popped out I was shocked to see a nice but dateless SLQ staring up at me!!!

Earlier I went to a park and found a neat 5 cent trade token. Didn't take a pic of it yet but will post it tomorrow.

HH,

Thanks Fog and Onus.

I recently went back to the lot (still not finished with it yet) and snagged an 1892 IH, 1935 Washington state tax token in great condition, a conductor button or pin (not quite sure) which may be gold gilted, 1918 & 1956 wheaties, and a few other assorted items.

The IH put me back into the 1800s for the third time in two weeks.

Ray, I am really impressed with the progress you have made with your Safari and the great finds you have been recovering. We both started about the same time and there is no comparison. I am desperately hoping Minelab finds some problems with my Safari and I can catch up with you some day. Your experience with it certainly gives me hope. Enjoy your posts and thanks for sharing. Thanks everyone!

Onus, I'm pretty certain your problem is the detector and not you. I'm hoping Minelab will fix the problem so you can see what a fine machine the Safari really is.

p.s. In a few minutes I will be posting a few more interesting finds from this same lot from my detecting session last night.
