Ace 250 battery compartment

Greetings & Salutations

I'm ready to buy the Ace 250 but the plastic battery compartment is plastic.The White's model I'm looking at has a steel battery holder but a little heavier as expected.Anyone have any battery compartment problems with the Ace 250?

My older GTA 500 had dry rotting problems with the removable battery holder so I'm a bit hesitant to buy this brand again.

No problems along this line as heck everything is plastic nowadays and shouldn't be a reason for not purchasing...

mine is going strong after at least thirty battery changes.
I live in one of the wettest parts of the country (west side of Washington State) and my unit is constantly being used in muddy scenarios. If the battery lid can hold up to this grimy scenario you can rest assured you will have no problems.

You all have convinced me so I bought the Ace 250 Sport. I do have good news to report as I found the wing nut from my mower & a 1966 Canadian penny.I believe the wing nut is worth more!! Anyway I'm back in the hunt. Thanks

I've had one since I tested the prototype years back and have never had any problems and don't know of anyone else that has.

I have had mine a couple years now and when I first got it had trouble with the lid not closing right so I called Garrett and they sent me a new one at no charge as a matter of fact they sent it regular mail two times and I never got it so the third time they sent it to me by UPS and it came ok that time and they never charged me a cent . They have real good service .
