Actual weight difference: 10" Slimline vs. 11" Pro coil?

Does anyone have the physical weights of the 10" Slimline stock coil and the 11" Pro coil? Are they comparable or is there a significant difference between the two? For that matter how does the 12"x10" SEF Excelerator compare weight wise? If someone has researched this and has it handy and wouldn't mind sharing, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I do not know the actual weight differences but in they way they feel the pro coil is the lightest, then the slimline and then the 12X10. the pro coil and the 12X10 have good balance, neither feel "front heavy".

From memory I think that the Pro Coil is 65grams, just over 2 ounces lighter. The pro coil connects in the centre as well which will help it to feel lighter still.

I used the Pro coil and the Slimline last fall and thought they were both balanced very well giving the nod to the 10 inch Slimline.Even though the older black stock 10.5 isn't balanced as well as each of these newer coils it had better depth and pinpointed close as well.Between the Pro coil and Slimline, the 10 inch coil performed better for me with separation and depth.I know most hunters find the opposite, but these were my results in the park that I hunted.

I wonder if the 1050 coil...is better because you go slower...I like the pro ,but I swing sort of fast with the se. I wonder if that makes a difference?

All the explorers should be swung slow, that is critical for good performance. the heavier the trash or mineralization the slower you should be swinging. I think its covered in the owners manual about how fast and if not it is any of Andy Sabischs books.
You should be able to get a feel for it, try different speeds and see if going slower doesnt improve your hunts.

I do swing faster them some of the other I know with explorer II, but I have pretty good finds?...I can hear the different stuff in the ground ..I think the se is a litte quicker at responding than the explorer II ? I get real good depth and I am in california(ahhhh). but the weather is nice not any snow..BURRRRRR

I weighed each one of them for you. The weights are including the complete coil, coil cover and the cable.

The 10'' slimeline coil weighs : 1.58 lbs

The 10x12'' excelerator coil weighs: 1.46 lbs

The 11'' Pro coil weighs: 1.20 lbs

Hope this helps you compare.

personally and talking to a few others who have this coil the slimeline does a little better than the pro coil. thats just from me and 2 others i know one happens to be a minelab dealer.ill be going for the 8 inch sunray coil soon for an all around multipurpose coil ive seen it in action and it seems worth every penny
