Hi. I have been running a Tejon for 3-4 years now and it is a freaking scalpel ! But there are some days when I just want to lower the concentration level and use a multi tone machine...a Tesoro of course.
What do you recommend for a multi toner that gets decent depth for small silver coins. We have a tiny sterling silver coin up here called a fish scale that is half the thickness and diameter of a clad dime. I have found six so far this year it it is great fun. These coins weren't minted after 1921.

I can't help you with multi tone machines..Did find a 1911 fish scale om the Little Souris river in Canada. Was using a Fisher 1265 at the time..the signal should be about the same as our half dimes. Were you using a standard or small coil? How deep were they?I'm doing a yard that has very nice soft soil, and I am afraid everything is in Chinese territorial waters...In fact, many thanks, will dig out the scale, put in a plastic case and use for a target...I would think a Golden might work, and depth is only a couple of inches short of what you are getting..Speaking of tones, I want a Vaquero with tones, priced in the 6 to 700 range tops..

Golden umax, latest version.

The fish in this field are fairly shallow for the most part 2-4 inches and some in town a bit deeper. I'm interested in the Golden but a little unsure of its depth abilities right now. I know what I'm getting with an AT Pro, a deep seeker, tones, shallow water submerge. Makes it kind of tough to keep on the Tesoro path with that being offered. A Vaq. with tones ? I'd be on that like a fly on lawn sausage. B.T.W., I found a W.W.2 German third Reich coin the other day, swastika and all, kinda creepy.

For small silver coins or coins on their side, get the 11" DD round. That coil is HYPER sensitive.

Is this coil compatible with the Tejon also or just the Umax line ? What is its full title please. I go pretty hard on the detecting but I'm not a gear wonk. Thanks.
