After a not so good start to the day

Earlier in the day I was asked to leave a 1850's school house site that I had received permission to hunt. I was a little disappointed because I was hoping to find a target I hadnt found yet. After leaving there and eating lunch I went to a neighbors house that his father had built and lived in for about 50 years. I hunted there before and found a couple wheats and a lot of newer pennies. Nothing special but satisfied the urge to hunt. I was there about an hour and after finding a couple more pennies I got a good hit about 3' from the corner of the foundation. As I swung it jumped between 6-8" down with numbers higher then I have ever come accross. I dug and folded back plug and there sat something round and covered in dirt. I couldn clean it there so waited until I got home. At home I rinsed it off and WOW....my first large cent! I never expected to find one in this yard, maybe at the school house but not here. Guess it goes to show, you never know what you are going to find............

Thanks
Denis

Nice find, can you read the date? I have had many experiences like yours. Just when you get bummed out, something awesome comes your way!!

Even using a magnifying glass, I went cross eyed trying to find some kind of identification on the date side. As soon as i thought i found something I couldnt find it again....lol

Congrats :clapping: nice coin I would love to find a large cent. HH.
