After the fireworks hunt

Weekend fireworks at one of my old sites had me thinking gold. I left on my big coil which has been good to me lately and while I didn't find any jewelry I did find a deep, green, 1941 wheat and a deep 1942 Merc with a small hole in it down by the bottom of the fasces, also deep. That big rusty button was supposed to be my first silver quarter of my recent switch to concentrating on silver coins. Found about 6 new coin spills, two over a buck, which is what I was expecting too. One spill contained two Euro two cent coins and a UK 5 New Pence. Only managed three or four trips around the park before it got too hot. A fun morning except for the black flies.

Ahem. There is a little silver in there.

Very nice cwilk WTG:thumbup:

Looks like someone was trying to necklace that pretty little merc and then thought better of it. It doesn't look like the hole goes all the way through.

Great finds:clapping:

It actually does go all the way through. A thin piece of wire would fit through the hole. If I had noticed the hole I would have checked better for more of them.
