Afternoon Hunt

I finally got my lower Rods from Backwoods Detectors. I noticed Richard sent them out 3 day Priority mail. Took just over 7 days to get here. What a difference it makes to be able to just Unclasp the Lower Rod and put a different Coil on. They were really much less expensive than I thought. I set up my Coils and decided my best bet was the 4X6 shooter. While I was setting up my machine for this coil I noticed a setting that I have activated that makes a lot of sense. It is the Inhibit. I had this checked and did not even realize it. I have been running on Auto track and this setting keeps the Machine from Tuning out as you hover over a target. This must be why I have never had trouble with Ground Balance being off after digging a target. (I think this is a good setting).

Got another old House to hunt and was reluctant to hunt this one. I did not think it was old enough to have any Silver. I put my Filter on 7.5 High Pass and started hunting. Had too many Blips so I went to the 10 Band Pass. That made a big difference. Dug very little trash and around 35 coins. Got one Ash Tray Dump and at least one Bonafided Coin Spill. Got 2 Quarters and two Dimes out of one hole. The 4X6 got a couple coins at 7 inches. I got tired after about 2 hours, especially after some visitors interrupted me. After I got home I noticed that at least 6 pennies were real Copper and two were older than 64. One was 1960. I covered very little ground so it looks like this old House will be good hunting after all.

Richard at Backwoods in Greenville Tn? He is a good friend of mine. I've been to his store and have purchased about five machines from him. I see him several times a year. I've got the same coils you do with the exception of the sef nel coil. Will be reading your settings and trying same on my unit. 6x10 is going to stay on my m6. I also bought another lower rod and have the ability to just swap like that. Much easier

I used Electrical Tape and taped the Coil wire pretty tight leaving only just enough needed to get to my Sun Ray. Coil swap is now 30 seconds. If you don't have the SEF for the V3i you need one. It sort of bridges the gap between the 6X10 and the 4X6 while giving really deep depth.

In addition to the coins, I also found a metal toy truck. This was not a Hot Wheels but sometimes can be worth more. I used to just throw them away until I found out how much they are worth to the collectors.
