Against the wind -

Great song from the past.

As to detecting it reflects what I do sometimes - and get results.

Example 1 = some play areas are close to the parking lot but have a second one some distance away. You can see it across a long field but the first place didn't produce much at all so you thinkk probably the other one is worked out too. But I have had luck by taking the time to walk across to detect it .

Example 2 - I'm doing a lawn or lot or big site with some big trees on it. A few branches hang down so low they almost touch the ground. I think that others have not bothered to go under the branches. I do them and dig silver coins, couple eagle buttons, part an old field sewing kit from the CW, etc.

Example 3 - I'm doing a big lawn, systematically covering it all and not finding much. I keep at it , determined to finish , and the last lane produces several oldies for the day. Did others give up before me ?

Example 4 - Detecting an old, old lawn I find not much. Until I go way under the hedges that border the lawn. I then notice how the dirt lawn drops down to the hedge - ,making the coin depths shallower. Silver coins reward me for pushing against the wind of mediocracy.

Human nature will provide the opportunities if you think about how others have given up. Steve in so az

You are right , at hunted out spots I try to think where people would have not hunted and I hunt there. It has paid off on several occasions.

I try where others do not want to go, and I also go over where they have been. I listen to those ugly noises that everyone else said "That is junk"
I listen closely and hear a little sweet sound mixed in and then dig a good one near a trash item!:wiggle:
